Your SoNZ jewellery is Designed to be Noticed - and to stay beautiful for as long as possible. Each piece is made with care - with just a little attention, you can keep your earrings bright and ready to wear for years to come.
Everyday Wear
Your SoNZ earrings are designed to be worn and enjoyed, but they’ll stay looking their best if you:
- ✧ Put them on after applying perfume, hairspray, or lotions.
- ✧ Avoid contact with water, cleaning products, and cosmetics.
- ✧ Remove them before showering, swimming, or sleeping.
Even though acrylic is lightweight and durable, treating your jewellery with care will preserve its polish and finish.
Preventing Tarnish
Our standard hooks are silver-plated, which means the surface layer of silver may naturally darken over time.
This is completely normal - it happens as silver reacts with air and skin oils.
To slow this process:
- ✧ Wipe your hooks gently with a soft, dry cloth after wearing.
- ✧ Store them in their box, away from humidity and sunlight.
- ✧ Keep them separate from other metal jewellery to prevent scratching.
Looking after you
Our Lifetime Hook Swap Promise
We never want tarnish to stop you wearing your favourite pair of SoNZ earrings. If your hooks or hoops ever lose their shine, we’ll replace them - free of charge.
Just get in touch and we’ll send you the return address for a hook swap.
Storage & Care
Each SoNZ piece is packaged with a silica gel pack to protect your hooks from tarnish.
We recommend:
- ✧ Keeping your earrings in their original jewellery box when not in use.
- ✧ Replacing the silica gel pack every few months for best results.
Our team places a fresh silica pack behind the foam insert before every order leaves the studio. It’s a small detail, but it helps your jewellery arrive in perfect condition.
Cleaning
If your jewellery needs cleaning, gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth - no chemicals or jewellery cleaners needed. Avoid soaking or using silver polish on plated hooks, as it can remove the silver plating.
